Balance, low-fat, special K and all the other fancy looking granola and cornflake seducer in the store’s aisle are for sure pretty to look at and sound just as intriguing, but do not dare to take a look at the nutrition facts! These mixtures, that are said to be super healthy and supportive of your fitness lifestyle are often full of artificial sugar. It just tastes better, but do you really want to fill your body with so much sugar in the early morning? You could have a snickers instead 😉
Here is one quick recipe to make your own granola and be sure that it will not end up on your hips. It is super easy to make, super yummy and will you keep energized the whole day!
3 cups of oats
1 cup of nuts (peanut, walnut, cashew,…)
½ cup of seeds (pumpkin, sunflower,…)
½ cup of coconut chips
½ cup of honey or maple syrup
¼ cup of olive oil
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
a little salt
mix all the ingredients together
put them on a baking tray
bake them for about 20 minutes at 180 degree
let it cool down
put it into a sealed glass
You can add whatever you like (for example dried fruits or some cocoa) and store the granola for at least two weeks.
